2012 Capitol Christmas Tree to be from Colorado

The Christmas tree on display in front of the nation's capitol this year is from California.  Next year's will be from Western Colorado.  The White River National Forrest to be more specific.  Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennett, along with representative Scott Tipton made the announcement last weekend.  The U.S. Forest Service will work with local officials over the next year to pick candidate trees.  The exact tree won't be publicized until it's cut down.
