Xcel Rate Increase Request Denied

The Colorado Public Utilities Commission has rejected an Xcel Energy request for a $100 million rate hike.  Xcel made the request saying it needed the money because of additiona expenses it expects this year.  The Daily Sentinel says the PUC will still consider the copany's original request for a $142 million hike later this year.
