It took search and rescue crews longer than expected to remove an injured man from an out-of-bounds ski run called The Minturn Mile near Vail. The man called authorities around 3:00 yesterday and said he had a broken leg and couldn't ski out. Vail Mountain Ski Patrol members reached him around 4:00 and called in a helicopter which couldn't land because of the terrain. 12 more rescuers were called in and the man finally brought down from the mountain around 7:00 last night.
