WPX, a newly created off-shoot of Williams says it's cutting back operation in the Piceance Basin. The Daily Sentinel says WPX will operate only 5 drilling rigs this year, down from 11 previously planned. WPX spokeswoman Susan Alvillar says low natural gas prices are to blame.
